PRLog (Press Release)Mar. 24, 2014CENTURION, South Africa South Africa will play host to the first international Carrier Wi-Fi event to be held on the continent. Q-KON is a co-sponsor of the Wi-Fi Offload Summit Africa scheduled for 8 May at Montecasino in Johannesburg.

Organisers describe Carrier Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi offload as among the biggest telecoms business opportunities of this decade.

The Summit will offer leading mobile & fixed network operators, telecommunications service providers and business leaders the opportunity to network, to hear about the latest developments within the global Carrier Wi-Fi space and benefit from insight from recognised experts.

The Programme will include case studies and real-world success stories about how to monetize Carrier Wi-Fi, with testimony in the form of strategy explanation and detailed accounts of system integration, development, service management and networks.

Gauteng-based Q-KON recently has announced partnerships with Ruckus Wireless and Aptilo Networks – also event sponsors and two recognised leaders in their sectors. The partnerships with Ruckus Wireless and Aptilo Networks will allow Q-KON to endorse the advantages of technologies and offer the peace-of-mind required by customers that deploy new technologies to service new markets.

Q-KON’s value proposition is to empower partners, customers and service providers to take Wi-Fi from ‘consumer grade’ to ‘carrier-class’ defined in the specific context of each market landscape.

Dr Dawie de Wet, CEO of Q-KON, says the company’s sponsorship of this event – a first for Africa – is an exciting development and one which the Company is very pleased to be a part of.

“We have established a leadership position within South African connectivity and telecommunications services market, and continue to make meaningful inroads into Africa in order to meet the needs of this vast marketplace. Our participation in this event is paramount and a truly unique opportunity to advertise our contribution and capability, as well as engage with customers, partners and other stakeholders,” says Dr de Wet.
